1 KENYAN MARTYRED IN MAKKAH CRASH, 4 INJURED

1 Kenyan pilgrim was among 107 people who died when a crane collapsed at the Grand Masjid in Makkah on Friday evening.














Adan Hassan, from Mandera died after sustaining injuries after a huge crane toppled over and crashed through the mosque and on worshipers.

Adan was with a group of other Kenyans doing Tawaf at the moment of the crash which left over 200 people injured among them 4 with 2 being discharged from the hospital and 2 still undergoing treatment in Makkah.

Saudi King and Custodian of the 2 holy Masjids King Salman bin Abdulaziz, visited the Masjid on Saturday and offered his condolences to the families of victims who died and those injured and said investigations into what caused the collapse are underway and that findings will be revealed.


Despite the incident, hundreds of thousands of Muslim pilgrims from around the world continue to flock to Holy city of Makkah to conduct Hajj.
