How Acquire a Kenyan Passport for your child born in Saudi Arabia

7 out of every 10 Kenyans living in Saudi Arabia will tell you his/her wish to stay get married, bring up his/her kids and live in the Kingdom for the rest of their lives despite all the negative stories about the Kingdom.

There are few Kenyan families who have been living in Saudi Arabia for 2,3 and even 5 decades and brought up their kids within the Saudi society, educated them in Saudi schools and so on. Therefore it’s not hard to bring up you kids and live in Saudi Arabia- like any other person.

But the fear of most expatriates is living in a society that doesn’t recognize you no matter how you mingle and live like them. Saudi Arabia is a country that doesn’t allow children of expatriate parents to get Saudi citizenship whether one is born or lived his/her entire life in the Kingdom. Never dream of that!

Therefore in this post we will be sharing few important information regarding acquiring a Kenyan Passport for your kid who is born in Saudi Arabia without worrying of him/her being stateless and nowhere to call a motherland.

REQUIREMENTS AND PROCESS.

1.    Acquire a Kenyan Passport for your kids as early as possible- Many Kenyan parents living in Saudi have the mentality that they can acquire a passport for their kids when they are 5,8 or 10 forgetting that any delay of registering your kid under your name can land you into trouble with the authorities and you can even be accused of sheltering an illegal person in your house. Therefore register your baby under your name and start the process of getting him/her a Kenyan passport immediately you are out of the hospital gate.

2.    You must be legally married-Saudi laws doesn’t allow come-we-stay kinds of marriages and therefore to do your unborn kids a favor, ensure you are both registered as married couples.

3.     A completed Passport Application form-you can get the form from the Kenyan Embassy or download it.

4.    Ensure you have your Original and copies of Iqamas as well as your Kenyan I.D’s and birth certificates-this will ease the process.

5.    A fee of 300 S.R which is paid as cash at the Embassy in Riyadh-do not deposit to an individual account.

6.    Passport size photos of the child-Don’t take photos with your phones.

As soon as you have fulfilled all above the requirements you have to brace yourself to wait for a period of 1-2 months to get your child’s passport since all documents are sent to Nairobi and nothing is processed at the embassy but keep tracking your application periodically.

Remember: Once you acquire a Kenyan Passport for your child you will be able to register him/her under your name with ministry of interior and Jawazat(Passport Office)and he will get a residence permit and health insurance according to your companies’ policies and you will enjoy bringing up your kids in Saudi society.
