Police
in the Kingdom will start to patrol the streets using new cars that are set to
be launched tomorrow.
Interior
minister, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz will launch the new cars in
the capital Riyadh on Tuesday evening in what is described as a breakthrough in
security patrols.
The new
patrol cars are black and white in color and installed with modern high
tech-security equipment including cameras that will be linked to a central
operating room. In addition, the cars have ability to reveal the identity of a
suspect instantly and his details including his residential place and work
place.
In
2014, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, the interior minister issued a directive to
have police patrol cars changed so as to distinguish vehicles of security
patrol from those of other security agencies in the kingdom.
