WHY LIFE IS GOOD IN SAUDI ARABIA

They say “On earth there is no heaven, but there are pieces of it and to me those pieces are only found in Saudi Arabia and that’s why like many I would proudly say I love being in Saudi Arabia.

I know there are few who would try to refute this with claims of sufferings of Kenyans in Saudi Arabia but the truth be told, there are loads of success stories from Saudi Arabia and how opportunities to work in Saudi has changed many Kenyans life. The success stories will follow but let’s talk on why a person should work in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has severally being ranked as the top best country in the world to live in with research companies citing various reasons from respondents but let’s see what makes Saudi Arabia the best place to work from the perspective of a Kenyan  expat.

1. Salary/Money.

Any expat living in Saudi will tell you that if looking to earn money, there is hardly anywhere in the world that beats working in Saudi Arabia. Salaries in Saudi Arabia are higher than in another gulf countries and this also comes with perks and other benefits depending such as housing, transportation as well as healthcare covers depending on the company you work for.

2. Hub for saving

 This is the nickname most expats have given to Saudi Arabia with the reason being that you can save upto 90% of your monthly income and still live a pretty good life. In Saudi Arabia there’s little to spend your money like blowing it on some parties on some crazy night out or other extravagant things... and thus many Kenyans enjoy life in Saudi Arabia due to the fact that they can help their families back home and still build up a healthy savings. So who wouldn’t love that?

3. Cost of living

No other gulf country beats Saudi on this as well. The cost of living in KSA is what can be described as beyond cheap and everything is pretty reasonable. The price of gas/petrol is cheap and actually cheaper than water and thus everything else such as electricity is cheap and you can run your AC’s, use your washing machine, fridge, cooker and other electronic gadgets the entire day and you won’t be complaining of electricity bills. Housing is also affordable and furnishing your house is something that you don’t have to stress about. Food is also affordable with the prices of vegetables being cheap.

4. Transportation

With the price of petrol being cheap it’s easier for one to buy a car or even 2 at ago in Saudi Arabia. Many expats opt to buy used cars since they tend to use it for a short period during their stay. The taxi’s(limousines) as they are called locally are also cheap modes of transportation but this depends on your negotiations power and with the new Riyadh metro project, the transport within the capital is set to change lives.

5. Security and Safety

Saudi Arabia stands as one of the safest places and actually I would feel secure walking in some low suburbs at midnight or drive within the city past 2 am in Riyadh than walking near Nairobi’s Police headquarters. Cases of hijacking or robbery are almost zero in Saudi Arabia as you would find police in almost every street.  There are no major terror attacks in Saudi Arabia as the media would portray and the Saudi government usually takes the threat of terrorism seriously. Therefore, what keeps the Kingdom secure is its strict laws and harsh punishments for criminal activities.

These are few reasons as to why Saudi is heavens pieces on earth and living and working in Saudi Arabia is pleasant and we love this Kingdom.
