The Ministry of Labor
will now issue Saudi work visas online starting from Sunday 15th March
2015.
Government institutions,
companies, Establishment and other private businesses will now be able to apply
and obtain work visas electronically this is after the ministry of labor
completed the automation of recruitment and visa services.
Labor Minister Adel
Fakeih, said that the latest development comes as the ministry of labor seeks
to employ technology to facilitate and speed up the visa procedures.
“This service will
reduce the paper work and facilitate speedy issuance of work visas without
having to visit the labor offices”, he said.
The minister added
that the new service will enable transparency in recruitment procedure as well
as strengthening the Saudization process.
Companies and business
owners seeking to recruit workers will now have to through 3 steps to get work visas;
first they will have to apply for visas electronically for verification and eligibility;
second step is to check the status of the company and number of visas pending as
balance; the final step will be processing of the visa request in compliance
with the rules of the ministry of labor.
The latest developments
comes a month after the family visas services for expatriate worker was made
online, an initiative that was welcomed by both Saudi citizens and expats in
the kingdom.
