Kenyans in Eastern Province enthusiastically welcomed
officials from the Kenyan diaspora community in Saudi Arabia last Friday at a
meeting held in Al Khobar.
KDCSA Officials led by deputy chairman Mr. Sayeed
Mohammed Mahmoud met with Kenyans living and working in the vast eastern region
following an invitation by Kenyans Dammam community leader Mohammed Seeya.
During the meeting, various key issues affecting Kenyans living
in the region were discussed with the main concern being unity among Kenyans in
the Kingdom.
Kenyans Dammam community leader Mr. Mohammed Seeya said
that they have been facing challenges which he attributed to disunity among Kenyans.
“Disunity and mistrust within us is what we have to fight
in order to attain our collective goals as Kenyans” he said.
Mr. Mohammed also appreciated the visit by KDCSA officials
which he described as a motivational and opportunity for Kenyans in Dammam to
know there are people who care and fight for their welfare.
Benson Wainaina a Kenyan in living in Dammam stressed on
the roles everyone can play in helping each other and strengthen the spirit of
being the brother's keeper.
In his address, KDCSA vice Chair Mr. Sayeed expressed his
gratitude for the invitation and hospitality accorded to him and his delegation.
He urged Kenyans living in eastern region to support each other and avoid groups
and individuals that are out to divide Kenyans.
Mr. Sayeed added that KDCSA will continue to help Kenyans
and bring together different groups in order proffer solutions to problems
facing Kenyans in Saudi Arabia.
On his part, KDCSA coordinator Mr. Alamin Athman Eirrey emphasized
on the importance of Kenyans conducting themselves in an exemplary manner,
wherever they are in order to maintain the good image of the our country.
Mr. Munir Mohamed who is KDCSA’s deputy treasurer took on
those who misuse, extort and swindle innocent Kenyans money and urged for integrity
and accountability.
Kenyans in eastern region welcomed initiatives undertaken
by KDCSA which include bringing Kenyans together and enhancing socio-economic integration.
